A sewer camera can be a very useful tool if used right.  There are a few important points to be noted: 

• The sewer camera can "see" best when only minimal water is present in the sewer line.  For that reason, if the line is totally backed up, it must first be cleared of any obstructions.
• The camera is a diagnostic tool and is not intended to be used to open a sewer line or push debris down the sewer line.
